AXONOMETRIC
Axonometric is an extra-large triangular shawl, knit in delightfully squishy garter stitch with an allover graphic pattern of perforated lines created with eyelets. This shawl's straightforward, top-down construction and integrated garter stitch trims keep the focus on the mesmerizing lace pattern.
FINISHED DIMENSIONS
Sizes 1 (2); sample shown is Size 1 version
Finished shawl measures 56 (61 1/2)” {142 (156) cm} wide by 28 (30 3/4)” {71 (78) cm} deep at center after blocking.
MATERIALS
700 (920) yards {640 (840) meters} of fingering weight yarn needed
Sample is knit in Oysters & Purls BFL/Merino Fingering (350 yards/100g), naturally dyed with madder; requires 2 (3) skeins. Note: Smaller, Size 1 shawl requires every last bit of 2 skeins; if possible, you may wish to find a friend to split an extra skein with. You may also omit the last 2-4 rows of the border before binding off if necessary.
GAUGE
19.5 stitches x 39.5 rows = 4” square in garter lace pattern, after blocking
Note: Gauge is not critical for this pattern, but changes to pattern gauge will impact both finished measurements and yardage required.
SUGGESTED NEEDLES
One 60” circular needle in size needed to obtain gauge
Recommended size: US 3 / 3.25 mm
