Middagh is the ultimate sweater weather pullover featuring strikingly modern cables at the sleeve, allover broken rib stitch on the body, and a snuggly cowl neck. This drop shoulder pullover is worked from the bottom up in pieces, starting with an optional tubular cast on. The sleeve cables flow seamlessly out of 2x2 rib and the cowl neck is picked up and knit in the round.

6 (6, 7, 7, 8, 8) (9, 9, 10, 10) skeins Hudson +West Co. Forge (70% American Merino wool, 30% American Corriedale wool; 235 yards/100 grams)

GAUGE 
20 stitches & 31 rows = 4″ in broken rib stitch pattern with largest needles, after blocking

SUGGESTED NEEDLES 
Size US 6 (4 mm), US 5 (3.75 mm) and US 4 (3.5 mm): 36” (91 cm) circs. Size US 5 (3.75 mm): 16” (40 cm) circ.

DIFFICULTY 
Intermediate: Skills required include cabling with (or without) a cable needle; chart reading; increasing and decreasing; seaming; picking up stitches, circular knitting; crochet chain provisional cast on (for optional tubular cast on).

NOTES
This garment is worked flat in pieces from the bottom up, then sewn together. The turtleneck collar is picked up and worked circularly. The pattern includes a second, alternate neckband option.
